Last week I had a beautiful conversation with Andrew Read from Jazz In Europe about my music and life. In this interview, I went quite personal and talked about some major life experiences that I’ve had which reflect in the new album, my influences, and inspirations.

Recording the trio was an intense 1.5 days only (!), and it’s amazing how much concentration this took and how exhausting yet satisfying the experience was (as you might see in the next cut I’ll post, yes, some people took a nap during breaks ;))
Recording the cello, voices, keys, and percussion was done later, in a very cool and creative process which I’ll share over the next posts.

I went outside to nature behind my house, for some fresh air and inspiration after a few days in. Compiled an uplifting playlist with some of my favorite music, to have in my ears while I breathe in ๐ถ Check it out here ๐
It’s so important to uplift the spirit with good vibes during this quarantine!

It’s been two weeks since ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฐ๐๐๐๐๐
was released, and I’m experiencing great pleasure in receiving everyone’s heartwarming responses. Thank you.
I want to take a breather to thank the beautiful humans who took part in this album on its’ various stages:
First and foremost, a huge thank you to the amazing musicians who were in the studio with me, both before and during the recordings –
๐๐๐ง๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐๐ฌ๐ก๐ค๐๐ง๐๐ณ๐ฒ on the bass, ๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ฅ on the drums โ having a trio with you guys was a real and absolute pleasure and a meaningful road of beautiful communication.
๐๐จ๐ง๐ฒ ๐๐ฐ๐ซ๐ฒ๐ง on percussion – you just put your magic and make everything sound fantastic, on top of being an inspiration to work with and a wonderful soul.
And my sister ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ on cello and vocals – you are such a substantial part of my path. Your sensitive ears and heart, warm orchestral string sound and your beautiful voice make my heart melt.
To the crew in the control room โ
๐๐ก๐ฅ๐จ๐ฆ๐ข ๐๐ฏ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข on the recording, for building creative sound partitions in the middle of a large classical concert hall, for your ears and personality, and for being a friend. Not enough words to describe.
๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง at ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ข๐จ on the fantastic mix and mastering, Jenny and the rest of the team. It was a unique experience to spend this time with you in Sweden and to have your masterful touch on this music.
To my friend and colleague ๐๐๐๐ข ๐๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ง, for bringing your sharp and attentive ears, and an open heart to the control room for the trio recordings, it was so valuable for me to have you there.
To my label, ๐๐ฒ๐ฉ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ ๐๐๐๐จ๐ซ๐๐ฌ, it’s refreshing to work with you guys, and I’m happy to be part of a label run by musicians that I sincerely appreciate.
A hearty thanks to my friends ๐๐๐๐ง ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ก and ๐๐จ๐ ๐๐ฏ ๐๐๐๐๐ฒ for being part of the later stages of this project in various ways and just being awesome.
And to ๐๐ก๐ฅ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐ฑ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐๐ก๐ข, who created the Behind The Scenes EPK video, you guys are geniuses.
Anyone reading this post still hasn’t listened to the album? You can stream it on all platforms, and also order your physical copy (it comes with a bird)

I met my friend Kevork Mourad through the mysterious creative network of Facebook, and we have been sharing art and thoughts for a while – him from NYC, I from Tel Aviv. The art that he makes always finds me in a very sensitive place, and I am pulled in to his storytelling and unique expression with awe.
Kevork chose to take the piece I Believe In Magic from my album and create his own take on it, resulting in this beautiful piece of art. I share it and hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Saturday morning lock-down greetings ya’ll, sending some cheerful vibes your way!
I wanna share with you guys an uplifting tune from my new album, it’s called ‘Kerem’ – which in Hebrew is a vineyard. Some outdoor reminiscence!

a shout-out to Daniel Ashkenazy and Gal Petel who play amazingly on this track and the rest of the album. Love to you guys ๐
At times like these, I am grateful for the eternity of nature, and for the availability of human connection regardless of circumstances. I am grateful for the possibility of creating, sharing, and uplifting. The sound of ocean waves and open spaces are there, waiting.

I started this decade in Madrid where I’d just moved, eating grapes at midnight at Plaza Mayor (local tradition I still don’t know the story behind) with a bunch of new friends. Since then I got to live in a few other countries, meet countless of extremely cool humans and making wonderful music. It’s only so natural to end this decade with the flu (not) and a bunch of old friends drinking wine (still grapes, different state) and perhaps forgetting some of the interesting things I’ve learned about life so there’s room for some new tunes.
Much to look forward to for me in 2020, with a new album coming out just around the corner (spoiler alert) and many more adventures I hope.
MAY WE HAVE A BLESSED 2020 AND A WHOLE LOT OF GOOD MUSIC AND GOOD VIBES. HAPPY NEW YEAR! ๐๐ท
Happy to be playing 7 concerts with the NKO and inspiring trombonist Nils Landgren starting tomorrow. Beautiful music, funny company! ๐ถ๐
